The Council Year
In addition to the regular meetings of the Council there are special events.
Annual Town Meeting - a meeting of the electors of Hebden Royd, chaired by the Town Mayor, but at which all electors have a vote and can raise any issue for discussion which is of importance to the area.
Annual Meeting of the Town Council - sometimes called the Mayor Making because it is at this meeting that the Town Mayor for the next twelve months is elected by councillors.
Civic Service - service of dedication traditionally held on a Sunday soon after the election of the Town Mayor.
Civic Dinner - perhaps better described as Mayor's Charity Dinner, celebrates the Mayors year in office and provides an opportunity for electors to meet without formal business being discussed.
